NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Country music icon Eddie Montgomery returns with a 25th Anniversary Edition version of the Montgomery Gentry hit, “Hillbilly Shoes.” In honor of the song’s 25th Anniversary, Montgomery highlights his vocals and pays homage to his late friend Troy Gentry, who sings lead vocals on the original release of the song. “Hillybilly Shoes (25th Anniversary Edition) is out now via Averarge Joes Entertainment.
Along with the release, Eddie Montgomery announces new EP, Home Run, to release on November 1st. The EP features previously released songs “Cost of Being Me (featuring Bryan Martin) and Hillbilly Shoes (25th Anniversary Edition) and an acoustic version of Eddie’s hit “My Son” from the Old Henry soundtrack. The EP will also include three brand new songs, including the focus track “Brotherly Love,” the first song Eddie has ever released with brother John Michael Montgomery. When talking about recording “Brotherly Love,” Montgomery shares “I was like, we need to cut something for our mom, ‘cause we lost our dad 30 years ago actually this year. We wanted to do something together because everyone is always asking ‘how come you guys have never done a song together?’ We’ve always had each other’s backs and we still do.”
