Multi-PLATINUM country artist Bryan Martin has built his career on unrestrained, true-grit storytelling, pulling hard-fought real-life experience directly into his music. He carries that same rawness into his latest song, “Complex,” out today (8.28) via Average Joes Entertainment.
A dark, foreboding whistle set against a steady acoustic guitar pulls listeners into a story of unsteady beginnings, and the emotional baggage passed down through generations that can follow someone their whole life.
Written by Bryan alongside Lydia Vaughan (Jordan Davis, Jason Aldean), Will Bundy (Ella Langley, Riley Green) and Sam Martinez (Shaboozey, Tyler Braden), “Complex” finds Martin reckoning with the people who betrayed and beat him down, coming to the realization that he may never fully heal from that trauma, while praying he can stop the cycle from continuing with his own children. With nearly a year of sobriety under his belt, Martin digs back into a well of old hurt to deliver a song rich in vulnerability, where a hard life’s complexities and psychological complexes meet.
