Colt Ford, who has made a name for himself by blending his two favorite genres of music — hip-hop and country — into one style, is getting ready to release his sophomore album. Called ‘Chicken and Biscuits,’ the Georgia native says the entire project is a labor of love.

“I never thought I could make a record like ‘Chicken and Biscuits,'” he tells CMT. “I pushed myself so hard in writing and finding the songs for the record, and I was blessed to write with some of the greatest songwriters in the world. To be able to make a second album that I feel is better than the first and still maintain who I am as an artist …wow! That was my goal, and I hope the fans agree because I gave it all I have.”

The album, which includes guest vocals by Josh GracinRandy HouserJoe NicholsJames Otto and Darryl Worley, hits shelves April 20.

Once a professional golfer, the self-described “funny, fat white dude” is on the road promoting his new music.
