georgiacountry(Oct 13th, 2010) Last night at the Cumming Country Fair, Colt Ford and his band of Rednecks rocked the venue and packed the place to where it was standing room only. Dave Horton, the Fairground Director, said it was the biggest crowd that the venue had ever seen, he estimated the crowd to be over 6000 in attendance just there to catch the show.

The gentle giant known as Colt Ford, took the stage around 8pm and it was evident that he owned it. He entertained fans of all ages and for a big ole boy from Georgia, he worked the stage from one side to another dancing and reaching out to shake the fans hands. It didn’t take long until all the fans were on their feet dancing and singing along with him. Now, I’ve had the opportunity to see him several times over the past several years and I can tell you that as a performer he gives it 100% and makes sure that everyone is having a great time.

Colt and his band performed hits from his current cd “Chicken & Biscuits” as well as fan favorites from his previous cd “Ride Through The Country”. He insisted that each band member do their own solo so they could be in the spot light also. Two members of the band, Tyler Farr, who did an opening solo set and Lindsey Hagar (back up vocals) have signed record deals and will be releasing their own material soon. The show ended about 9:30 and then Colt went to his merchandise table where he sat for close to two hours greeting fans, shaking hands and signing autographs. He stayed until the very last fan had gotten a chance to meet him. From what I heard, his fans really do appreciate him taking the time to do that after every show and not only is his music a big draw but his friendly outgoing personality makes him more approachable. After he was done meeting all the fans we were asked to join him on his personal bus where we were able to catch up on a few things.

His next cd “Second Helping” is in the works and they pushed back the release date of it giving him a little more time to fine tune some things. He feels like “Chicken & Biscuits” has been well recieved and numbers prove that it is a fan favorite from all the downloads, local radio plays and as one of the most popular requested videos on CMT. He has been fortunate to play some shows with the legendary Hank Jr. and Jamey Johnson along with Jason Aldean. Jason Aldean just cut Colt and Brantley Gilbert’s “Dirt Road Anthem” tune.

Home for only a day,the bus was loaded and ready to head to Mississippi for their next few shows with Hank Jr.on the Rowdy Friends Tour. Folks, If you haven’t had the chance to see a Colt Ford show, I suggest that you do. This GA Boy is quickly rising to the top and there’s no holding him back so catch him while you can.

Special Thanks to Ebie McFarland and Jeff Hawkins for helping to facilitate things for us at Georgia-Country. You are greatly appreciated!
