Nappy Roots, which shares roots with Louisville and Bowling Green, is having a delayed record-release party Saturday at Headliners Music Hall, 1386 Lexington Road.

The album, called “The Pursuit of Nappyness,” finds the group proving once again that you don’t need to rap exclusively about clubs, girls and cash or shatter rear windows with bass-heavy beats to make vital hip-hop. Skinny DeVille, Big V, Ron Clutch, Fish Scales and B. Stille will perform with Scanner.

Showtime is 9 p.m., cover is $12 and the Grimey Rhymers Regime Scanners Project opens.
